One of the best things you can do for your Facebook page and for your business is cross-promote on Facebook and other platforms. It’s much easier than you think and it makes it much easier for individuals to share things about your business on their Facebook accounts and to like your Facebook page. In this section, we’ll discuss cross promoting and how to do it.
Place Facebook Buttons on Your Website and Blogs
One of the easiest things you can do to cross promote is to place a Facebook button on your blog posts or website so that individuals can easily share your website or posts on their Facebook accounts. It’s super-easy to do this if you know where to put the HTML for the code on your website or blog. Look for the “html” editor and place this code at the bottom of your blogs or on your website wherever you wish:
<script>function fbs_click() {u=location.href;t=document.title;window.open('http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&t='+encodeURIComponent(t),'sharer','toolbar=0,status=0,width=626,height=436');return false;}</script><style> html .fb_share_link { padding:2px 0 0 20px; height:16px; background:url(https://static.ak.facebook.com/images/share/facebook_share_icon.gif?6:26981) no-repeat top left; }</style><a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=<;url>" onclick="return fbs_click()" target="_blank" class="fb_share_link">Share on Facebook</a>
This leaves a small Facebook icon and “share” text so your visitors know they can easily click this link to share the content or blog post on their Facebook account.
You should also place your Facebook profile link on your website and on your blog so users can like you on Facebook easily and quickly. Unfortunately, many business owners neglect this small step and then miss out on the massive benefits.
Mention Your Facebook Page in Commercials or Ads
If you’ll be doing any television commercials or radio ads, you’ll want to mention your Facebook page so individuals who are riding in the car or watching television can quickly go to your page and like it.
A simple tweet once a day or a few times a week can let your Twitter followers know that you’d like to have them as fans on Facebook as well. Keep the tweet short, like, “Let’s connect on Facebook too” and then include the link to your profile. You can also tweet about Facebook discounts, like, “40% discount for our Facebook fans today” and include your Facebook profile link.
Business Cards
Include your Facebook page information on your business cards. People are much more likely to keep you as a “like” on Facebook than they are to keep your business card, so if they have that information and like your page, they’ll still have your contact information long after the card has been thrown away.
We’ve discussed numerous ways to cross-promote your Facebook account in this section, and in the next section, we’ll discuss more ways in which you can cross promote. It’s important to absorb this information so that you can easily and quickly cross promote, gaining new fans and potential customers.
