Creating an Opt-In Form on Facebook

22 In order to install the opt-in form on your page, you’ll need to use an application. There are different ones available, but for this instance, we’ll use the Aweber app for an example. Aweber is a great company for email marketing and building your list.

Obtaining the App

The first thing you’ll need to do is get the app. Log into your Facebook page and then visit this link to get the Aweber app:

Once you’re at the page above, you’ll want to click the page you want to add the opt-in form on. You’ve probably already created Facebook tabs so you’ll want to make sure you’re putting the opt-in form in the right place. Once you select the page from the drop-down menu, you’ll be taken back to your homepage.

Placing the App

In the top right-hand side of your page, you’ll see an arrow pointing down. Hover over the arrow until you see your page and then click on the page you want to place the opt-in form on. You’ll see your page
and at the top left a button that says “manage.” Hover over that and then select “edit page” from the drop-down menu.

Go to the left and select “apps” from that menu, and you’ll be taken to a different page. This page will contain the apps you’re using. Find the Aweber app and look directly under it where it says “go to app” and click that link.

You’ll need to log in to Aweber now via your Facebook page so you can access the information you need to place the app on your page. Enter your username and password in order to do this. Then, you’ll be prompted to select the list that you want your users added to. Remember to select the appropriate list for this particular page so your subscribers will be collected in the right list.

Then, you’ll choose the form that you want to be shown to individuals from the drop-down list. Once you select “save changes,” your opt-in form will be displayed on your Facebook page. That’s it – it’s really simple once you go through the process a few times.

Now, individuals who visit your page will have the option of entering their email address and being added to your subscriber list. This is extremely beneficial since it’s so important to build your list. You’ll have access to these individuals now from your Aweber account and can send them marketing emails and more
