Chapter 11: Solo Ads
Many marketers use solo ads as another form of paid advertising. A solo ad is when you buy an ad that is in the form of an email. People with large email lists will often mail out your offer for a fee.
Solo Ads are great to use as a method for building your list by offering something free in return. Your free offer could be a report, free video or a free eBook. Using this method you are creating leads for your business.
Once the email is sent the reader will click on the link and be sent to your landing page. To receive your free gift the
person will have to take a specific action in order to receive the gift. Once they are on your list you have the ability to email them as long as they stay subscribed to your list.
If you decide to use this as a paid traffic method there are a few things you need to keep in mind.
- Only send your ad to a list that is targeted to your ideal customer
- Verify details of your ad with the list owner
- Ask what their open rates and click through rates are
To find solo ads do an internet search for terms such as Solo ad providers and solo ad directory. Before paying for any type of solo ads you should always contact the owner directly and ask for details of their offer. Many companies as well as individuals sell Solo Ads so be sure to purchase from a reputable source.
Some lists are suited for certain types of markets and so it is important to match the list to your target customer. As well look for customer feedback to see what type of results they received.
Advertising in Ezines is similar in some ways to using Solo Ads. An ezine is an online magazine or newsletter that is sent out to subscribers on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis. Some well known Ezines have thousands of subscribers in certain niches. If you can locate one that suits your products or services this can be a great way to reach your target customer. Look for newsletters in your business and contact the webmaster to see if they offer advertising spots. Prices will vary so you will want to look
at the demo-graphics of their reader to see if this is a good match for you.
