We’ve talked about boosting your fan following and one of the best ways to do that is with Facebook ads. There are so many different options when it comes to ads, and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. In fact, you can control how much you pay. By understanding how the ads work, you can benefit from them immensely and really grow your Facebook following.
The first thing you want to do is go to the very top of your page where you’ll see the button entitled “Build Audience.” When you hover over that, you’ll see a drop-down menu with an option to “create an ad.” Click on that button. You’ll be taken to a page that asks for some details about the kind of ad you want to create.
Entering the Information
The first thing you’ll see is the choice between “sponsored stories” and “Facebook Ads.” This means the difference in how your ad will show up. For instance, if you choose sponsored stories, your ad may be presented to individuals with an ad that tells them how many of their friends like your page, or something very similar. If you choose
Facebook ads, your ad will simply show up as a Facebook advertisement.
You can then select “New ad message,” assuming you want to create a new message rather than taking content from a previous post on your page. After you’ve chosen that, you’ll have the option of choosing where the ad will take individuals to, as well as the headline and body of the ad. Remember, it is extremely important to choose a
a headline that is eye-catching, and a body that will make the user do what you want, which is to like your page.
Headlines and Body
In your headline, appeal to the widest possible audience that you can. Directly speak to them and let them know the ad is relevant to them. You might see ads for books with headlines like, “If you liked Edward Cullen, you’ll love this.” Or, you might see ads for cooking shows with headlines like, “Paula Deen Recommended.” It’s all about drawing attention to the ad. For the body, ask them specifically to like the page. For instance, “Like to learn about vegetarian cooking,” etc.
You’ll then target your ad to those you feel would be most interested. It might be adult men between the ages of 25 and 70 or young adult women who are stay-at-home mothers. With Facebook ads, you can completely customize who you want to show them to, making it easier than ever to experience success. When you’re talking directly to the people who are most likely to purchase your service or products, you are going to increase the chances of getting paying customers.
